Norrá Hill is a music project founded by guitarist, composer, and producer Frank Lechtenberg. Blending jangly guitar pop with Britpop influences, Frank’s signature sound is instantly recognizable. Kari Ehli’s distinctive vocals add the perfect touch, creating a laid-back, sunset-ready atmosphere.
Frank and Kari collaborate with a variety of musicians on their tracks. In 2024, the project welcomed multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Dominik Junker as a new member. Other contributors include drummers such as Jens-Henning Gläsker, Chris Thomas, and Torsten Bugiel.
Typically, Frank and Dominik lay the groundwork by crafting prearranged chord progressions or nearly finished instrumentals for Kari to build on. Once she develops the melodies and lyrics, they bring in a range of talented musicians to fine-tune the sound. Artists from around the world contribute to their music.

The next Norrá Hill single is "Black Car", releasing July 31st, 2026.
This time, Frank recorded every instrument himself — guitars, bass, synthesisers, and programmed samples — built around Kari's vocals. The result is leaner and more rhythmically driven than anything Norrá Hill has released before: a deep plectrum bass in G minor, jangly guitar lines, and a simple, honest thought at its centre — all the luxury in the world means nothing without the right person.
"Black Car" is distributed via recordJet and mastered by Steve Kitch (UK). For the first time, 24-Bit Hi-Res audio will be available not just on Bandcamp but also on Qobuz. Cover photography by Georgij Pestov.
