Norrá Hill is a music project founded by guitarist, composer, and producer Frank Lechtenberg. Blending jangly guitar pop with Britpop influences, Frank’s signature sound is instantly recognizable. Kari Ehli’s distinctive vocals add the perfect touch, creating a laid-back, sunset-ready atmosphere.
Frank and Kari collaborate with a variety of musicians on their tracks. In 2024, the project welcomed multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Dominik Junker as a new member. Other contributors include drummers such as Jens-Henning Gläsker, Chris Thomas, and Torsten Bugiel.
Typically, Frank and Dominik lay the groundwork by crafting prearranged chord progressions or nearly finished instrumentals for Kari to build on. Once she develops the melodies and lyrics, they bring in a range of talented musicians to fine-tune the sound. Artists from around the world contribute to their music.The latest release will be “Gamble” (Release date December 19th, 2025)
The song "Gamble" by the US-German band Norrá Hill was originally intended for an EP. However, Kari, Dominik, and Frank were not satisfied with the initial mixes. After the track had been resting in the band’s archives for half a year, Frank decided to revisit it—remixing and partially rearranging the piece. The signature Norrá Hill sound remains intact, but the production takes new directions that emphasize the band’s original identity.
Frank and Dominik re-recorded several tracks and reprogrammed the beat, while Kari’s vocals were reworked and edited until all three were finally happy with the result.
